Komatsuwa Textile's original fabrics feel soft and airy when worn on the body.
The secret lies in the raw fabrics and unique dyeing methods that we have selected based on our experience in pursuing fabrics since our establishment in 1954. The handmade work by craftsmen, which is becoming rare today, creates a unique feel and comfort. Our original fabrics are developed as "AZUMADAKI" (Tokyo), "KOTOHIRADAKI" (Kagawa), and "ORIHIMEDAKI" (Tochigi).
The dyeing technique called "kama-iri," in which the fabric is slowly boiled in a small goemon bath and dyed, is restored to the Edo period (1603-1868), and the fabric is dyed while being slowly cooked in a small iron pot.
The fabric is then rubbed against each other, which removes the core of the fabric and gives it a soft and pliable feel. This technique is compatible with natural materials, so it is soft to the touch, has excellent moisture absorbency, and takes full advantage of the characteristics of hemp and cotton, which become more comfortable against the skin as they are used.
